With all this sunshine I have been starting to daydream about festival fashion, I love the dressing up and shabby elements that you can bring to your outfits when dancing in a field! That and all the glitter make up anyway, what festival outfit would be complete without a floral headband, ive been meaning to make one for like ever and here it is……..

Since it’s been a little drier with these spring like days I’ve finally been able to crack out my pale pink boat shoes, hooray!

With all this sun we have had lately I have been lusting after some new sunnies since January! Found this pair in Snoopers Paradise yesterday for three pounds! Bargain! So basically the weather has to carry on being lovely now so I can wear them. Complete with todays folky outfit it's been a lovely day!

Apologies, I have been rather slack this last week, don’t know why but I seem to have lost the feeling that I have any right to comment on clothes and style the last week! However I am back, I’m trying and I have a couple of lovely new pieces as well!

I have been lusting after a camo jacket for ages, urban outfitters have a version which is like thirty quid, I got this for a tenner from a charity shop! Result!

I was very excited to dye my hair. Before September I had blonde hair for about 4 years; I don't count the few weeks in January-February 2010 when I followed some silly silly advice. That was a disaster.

I am very prone to changing my hair at least every month or so. I find hair gets very boring very quickly, you discover all the styles that are possible with it and wear it each and every way. Then, well then Its boring again! So...

Yesterdays outfit for a flat viewing... an attempt to make myself seem a little more mature, to ensure I definitely get the flat. I love pretending I'm an grown up.

Playsuit from Beyond Retro with a Blouse/dress from a charity shop. Electric Blue (my favorite colour to wear) shoes from Primark and a riders jacket from The Wardrobe in Hastings old town.

Its a little more simple than I would usually go for but still worked well for a sunny spring afternoon.

Crop tops and Bows!

Ok, as you can see this old Topshop jumper that I bought from a charity shop is having a bit of a moment in my life, not being the skinniest you would think that crop tops would be a complete no no. However when worn with anything high waisted I’m all for a bit of rib flashing! Crop tops are still in the news for spring/summer 12, if that’s the sort of thing you care about, but if not have a change of heart and crack out those high waisters and take the scissors to an old t-shirt and give yourself a new silhouette.

Crafty Cards.

Oh the simple craft of making a card…… such satisfaction gained from sticking a few pretty things onto a piece of folded card! I hate to discredit myself but this is actually one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways of being a little creative. The housey pictures are from an old Cath Kidston wallpaper leaflet…… recycling to the max! Oh how the Superscrimpers would be proud! Now if you know me at all then you will be aware of my obsession with Cath Kidston which has spanned many years. So in my honour go check out her new spring collections to get inspired! And then go stick some old bits of paper, sweet wrappers, and some pictures of roses cut out of the adverts selling seeds in the Sunday newspaper magazines and make me a card!

A weekend in style.

I started of friday with this cutsey dress which is seventies does fifties, ive been horading this dress for the past two months and i really enjoyed its first outing!

One of my biggest style dilemmas is what to wear for ‘special’ occasions or nights out?! I think it’s the added pressure of wanting to look extra nice and perhaps wanting to impress. With excitement of going to a gig I wanted to mark the occasion with a significant look! I feel I did this in this beautiful sequined top worn with my crazy tribal print leggings! Result!

A strong style weekend I feel finished off today with an outing for one of my favourite ever jackets, I’ve almost worn in a bit of a sports luxe manner I feel!

Any opportunity for new clothes always put me a bit on edge! And rightly so with the chance to find so many exciting pieces, I soon got into the swishing mentality i.e move out the way/ I touched it first/ that wouldn’t fit you anyway! After the first bit of grabbing everyone became more sharing, and apart from the happiness of finding new pieces for yourself, it’s a really smug feeling when you realise people find your old clothes desirable!

Amazing eighties mohair jumper worn as a dress( I do admit when I went to work in this outfit I did put cycling shorts underneath!) I don’t think the world is quite ready for that look yet.

I found it really surprising that after the initial grab everything mentality, there were still beautiful items left on the rails, like this stunning coral blouse. The quality of the piece is just lush, I’ve styled it in a way that makes me feel like I’m in Bugsy Malone. Particularly when worn with these charity shop found trousers. I also nabbed these gorgeous topshop heels at the swish (my size!) happy days!

What I found so exciting about the prospect of clothes from this style event is the discovery of items you would never imagine, like this ruffle eighties top, which I’ve modelled backwards as I feel it hangs better. I love this angry flamenco dancer look! I adore a good handbag and was overjoyed to find this un-used leather one, since most of my outfits are all vintage pieces adding simple bag really sharpens up my look.

Check out the cutest blouse ever, I love that when I put it on it conjures up images of me wearing a matching frilly hat and milking cows…… ok just my imagination then?!

Summer cannot come sooner

I awoke to a horrible, wet, rainy, windy day and I'm sure I am not the only one who cannot wait for Summer; it's far to cold and I am tired of being limited to less than a quarter of my wardrobe. Anyway, it was off to Bexhill Town today. Again it took me ages to decide what to wear due to the conditions outside, but I think the final outcome was simple but suitable considering. Plus, its not like I'm looking to win any style awards any time soon.
      Also, forgive the appearance of my moody demeanour.

A nude embellished, slit cut neckline top from a charity shop and my old NEXT high waisted hot-pants that I've cut and altered several times. The 50s headscarf was an attempt to fight against the wind and rain for the afternoon. Plus the "cleaning lady headscarf" look always works well with this weather anyway. The shoes, also from a charity shop.

I bought the top mainly because of this gorgeous stitching around the neck and cuffs, gives the top more texture.

Jacket from another charity shop here in Bexhill. The material is like a soft tweed and the cuffs, pockets and collar are all velvet. I found it on a reduced rail about a year ago... for 50p! WIN.
