How to.... Wear frills.

Frills, the perpetual attire of children under the age of ten, harlequins, fussy secretaries and Austin Powers. Now all good looks if you ask me, however I know the rest of the world does not feel like this, I cannot think why?! Anyway I have again been delving deep into my stylistic skills and come up with this kind of sixties schoolgirl frilly shirted vibe. Which I think you might agree is pretty understated considering the degree of frill on this collar. I did resist dressing up as Jimi Hendrix as well as not going down the 70's librarian route. So all sensible and good. Lets embrace the frill and please don't judge me if I say I felt a little bit like Blair in Gossip Girl. 

I think I might make it a new theme of mine to have cutesy/scruffy/interior  photoshoot settings, can that be my style?!

There is something happening in the world of fashion, people are beginning to get sick of creepy mass produced clothes........ companies churning out set sizes and pieces controlling what we wear. We are being brain washed by the high street into what apparently suits us at whatever, time they dictate.

However there is a underground movement happening, slowly people are beginning to want something more, its doesn't take money, having to be a certain size or even "style" all its takes is imagination.

In reaction to this three woman are starting a group, a group that captures the moment, wants to provide inspiration and keep striving forward in creative ways. Ways that make us satisfied and free thinking, not conned into thinking we need the latest look to look good.

If you often read this blog then you know I have a major thing for the 60's, the music, the style, I adore that sixties vibe. These pics were taken yesterday for a potential project in the pipeline, Styled by Alanna, Laura and I and Photographed by Alanna, although though these were just behind the scenes shots. I think you will agree that these are a great homage to some stylistic qualities of the period. I just love them, particularly the rug!!!

Today Alanna and I worked on a shoot, these amazing capes are the mastermind of the gorgeous Laura who is modelling here, she styled, Alanna photographed and I assisted.
