Scissors and Boredom.

I'm back after nearly a week, this amazing heat wave has been playing havoc with my creative flow, what does one wear in this weather? Any interesting layering, irritating. Anything with sleeves, too much. Even accessories just anger me at the moment and I'm left looking like a complete bore! Today I took the scissors to a ugly old dress, cut it from knee length to mid length cut the arms off, added slits to make a cool arm effect and cut the high neck into a lower one. I still feel like I look like a bore, but on the upside know one in the world has the exact dress. So get customising people and lets fight the boring clone like trends with scissors and a needle and thread! Even if we feel dull.

Yesterday Alanna tricked me into having a day off, we needed to go up to her mums to pick some furniture for our pop up shop which will be at Bimble Bandada. Anyway when I got there she got me out loads of cushions made me a cup of tea and told me to go put my bikini on so we could go for a swim in her mums pool. Hilariously we still wore our sunglasses in the pool.

Bird and rose.

This is the most flesh you will EVER see me display, oh sari crop and altered 80's denim shorts in such lovely colours, you have made me get my body out some how?! I matched my glitter eye make up with my top, and then topped it all off with this crazy bird and rose headpiece I made yesterday, which is deffo erring on the side of mental. I don't care, wear what you love.

Want to be part of the style revoloution?

There is something happening in the world of fashion, people are beginning to get sick of creepy mass produced clothes........ companies churning out set sizes and pieces controlling what we wear. We are being brain washed by the high street into what apparently suits us at whatever, time they dictate.

However there is a underground movement happening, slowly people are beginning to want something more, its doesn't take money, having to be a certain size or even "style" all its takes is imagination.

In reaction to this three woman are starting a group, a group that captures the moment, wants to provide inspiration and keep striving forward in creative ways. Ways that make us satisfied and free thinking, not conned into thinking we need the latest look to look good.

Want be involved? Message us you looks, post them on fb and tag Its Hideous, I love it. What do you want us to write about, leave a comment after this post. And keep your eyes peeled for a new blog that's leading the revolution.

Its called-

Wear for art now. #itsnotalookitsalifestyle

Let the sunshine.

I bloody love the colour combo in these pics, COLOUR makes me so happy, in fact great colour combinations are just another small thing to gain great pleasure from, everyday.  I Bought this amazingly hideous 60's hat from a charity shop yesterday, it was the blue net and matching flowers  that sold it to me, you know I'm a sucker for hats anyway! Don't know what weather you all have today but right now the sun is shining, I'm feeling a 60's vibe and I intend to spend time today listening to the kinks in the sunshine, hope you find some peace in your day too x

I heart recycling.

I bloody love recycling, old magazines and knitting patterns slid into really grubby old plastic folders, sewn together, with zip added. So gorgeous, and you could fill them with anything you like, pictures of you and your mates, beads and buttons, dried flowers, or just leave them clear. Totally love sewing, in love with clear stuff, I heart my new clutch bag and purse! No go forth and make things!

All in good taste.

What is good taste? Why is a taste something which depends on context, era, age, whatever?! Interesting I think that we all have our own definition of what we consider good. I am bringing this up because- look at the two piece, now you know that I love a two piece but even I can tell that this late eighties pastel monstrosity is truly gross, however I kind of love the colour, the shape of the skirt and just general fact that its a two piece. My amazing mum bought it for me from a granny charity shop in Lincolnshire, that makes me love it even more! So go on challenge good taste, even if your not sure about it yourself. Clothes and style are meant to FUN!

Spent a rocking Monday evening scrubbing jars with my boyfriend to make into candle holders, going to hang them in the tree in the garden, I would just like to pointy out how punk this makes my candles lol, as well as up-cycled, roll on warmer evenings!

Clash it up.

This little mash up was a rushed lack of inspo, anyone been into Urban Outfitters lately, its a rush of dullish nineties tribal style prints, mixed with a whole lot of denim and bits of vintage sportswear. Yawn, anyway I love tribal and this skirt and top are both from different homemade two pieces, so my message here is clash it up, go mad!

In other news how cute is this little kids tea set, loved the colours or the characters on it, need to theme an outfit round it.

Get your chintz out.

I bloody love Britishness, today I went to visit Preston Manor but my favourite bit was the gorgeous walled gardens, felt right at home in my own little secret garden fantasy. Check out my gorgeous chintzy kimono which I made this week. I ended up rocking it in a kind of seventies does thirties thing, which I am very much in love with, I am currently adoring a modernised thirties vibe which my kimonos fit right in with. I love the glamour of it, the femininity, darkness and of course the whole late Art Deco vibe.

In other news look what a lovely friend gave me, this vintage pom pom making kit from the seventies I believe, amazing, look out for some interesting results haha!

jeans and a f***ing t shirt.

Look at this! Look at it, my shameful attempt of an outfit for the day. With the uncommitted weather situation as well a massive "I have nothing to wear" day, this is what happened. This! Some people can really rock it, jeans and a t shirt, they look really cool and effortless. But its so weird on me, its like you strip of my vintage dresses and floral madness and what are you left with? However it is good to challenge yourself and have a stylistic change from what your use too, I'm sure todays panic attack outfit will turn into something else entirely in my mind. But right now I have to go to work, in jeans and f***ing t shirt.

#chelseafloralshow

God how I love a two piece, with the upcoming #chelseafloralshow advert and a pop up shop at Bimble Bandana festival I've been trying to sew like mad at every opportunity. Today  produced this gorgeous two piece as well as some bleached denim items and customised jackets and waistcoats. Watch the space.
